Prokta vs Phonecheck: Phonecheck certifies the device. Prokta runs the trade-in, and proves it.
Phonecheck is built for the warehouse: diagnose, lock-check, erase and certify used devices for resale. Prokta is built for the whole trade-in program: grading and pricing every phone at the counter, verifying the customer, tracking every shipment, settling disputes with sealed evidence and closing the books. Here's where each one fits.

Which one do you need?
Both look at the condition of a device, but at different moments. Phonecheck checks it at the warehouse, after it's been bought. Prokta checks it at the counter, before the price is paid, and keeps that record all the way to resale.
You refurbish, process ITAD volume or sell on marketplaces, and need every device tested, wiped and certified.
- Deep diagnostics and repair history
- Lock, carrier and blacklist checks
- Certified erasure and a resale certificate
Your losses happen before the device reaches the bench: pricing guesswork, unverified sellers, lost shipments and condition disputes.
- AI grading and market pricing at the counter
- KYC, logistics and warehouse re-scan
- Disputes settled by sealed evidence
- Invoices and P&L per device
Keep Phonecheck in the warehouse, and let Prokta run the customer-facing and in-transit steps before it.

ProktaA certificate shows the device at the bench, not at the handover.
By the time a phone is certified in the warehouse, the customer has already been paid. If it arrives with a crack nobody priced in, the certificate will record the crack, but it can't show whether it was there when the phone changed hands or happened in transit. Prokta seals the condition record at the moment of trade-in, ties it to a verified customer, and compares it with the warehouse re-scan, so both sides see the same evidence. Over 95% of disputes end on the record alone.
Built for different buyers
Organized retail chains, recommerce businesses and buy-back desks who buy devices from consumers across many locations, move them through logistics, and need every step, from first quote to resale, in one system with evidence behind it.
Refurbishers, ITAD operators, carriers and marketplace sellers who test, wipe and certify high volumes of phones, tablets, computers and wearables before resale.
Built on evidence infrastructure
The same system that settles condition disputes at scale across retail runs your trade-in program. No test stations, no bench hardware: any store with a phone can start.
Running today across organized retail chains, powering Pinloop's condition-verified device exchange.
Almost every dispute is settled by the record alone. No calls, no arguments.
Very few condition assessments ever change after the fact. The industry norm is the majority.
Prokta vs Phonecheck: common questions
Is Prokta a Phonecheck alternative?
For running a trade-in program, largely yes. Prokta covers grading, pricing, customer KYC, logistics, warehouse disputes and financials. Phonecheck focuses on processing and certifying devices at the warehouse: deep diagnostics, lock and blacklist checks, certified data erasure and the Device History Report. If you rely on Phonecheck for those, keep it and run the trade-in program on Prokta.
Does Prokta do diagnostics like Phonecheck?
Prokta runs quick screen and camera tests in the customer's own browser at the point of trade-in, and grades cosmetic condition from photos with AI. It does not run bench-level hardware diagnostics, repair history or parts checks, or IMEI blacklist and lock checks. It works alongside the tools you already use for those steps, such as Phonecheck.
Does Prokta erase data or issue a device certificate?
No. Prokta does not perform certified data erasure or issue a resale certificate like Phonecheck's Device History Report. It produces a sealed, tamper-evident condition record of each trade-in, which is used to settle disputes between the store, the customer and the warehouse.
Does Prokta need test stations or special hardware?
No. Grading runs in the Prokta app using photos, and the customer runs quick tests in their browser by scanning a QR code, with nothing to install. Any store with a phone can start.
Can I use Prokta and Phonecheck together?
Yes. Prokta runs the customer-facing and in-transit steps: grading, pricing, KYC, logistics and dispute evidence. Phonecheck handles warehouse diagnostics, erasure and certification before resale. The two cover different points in the device's journey.
How does Prokta settle disputes a device certificate can't?
A warehouse certificate records the device's condition when it reaches the bench, after the customer has already been paid. Prokta seals the condition record at the moment of trade-in, links it to a verified customer, and compares it side by side with a re-scan at the warehouse. Differences are flagged instantly, and over 95% of disputes are resolved by the record alone.
